OUR PRACTICE & COMMITMENT

How We Work: Rigour Behind the Heart

Professional Framework

·      A Social Model of Care :

We operate within a deliberate Non-Clinical Framework. Our focus is on the social and emotional determinants of wellbeing—elements that are essential yet often secondary in standard healthcare environments.

·      Complementary Integration :

We are not a medical service. Our initiatives are designed to integrate with existing care plans, providing a specialized layer of emotional support that acknowledges the person beyond their diagnosis.

·      Scope of Practice :

Our facilitators are trained to operate within clear professional boundaries. We maintain a formal Referral Protocol to ensure that any individual requiring clinical psychological support is promptly directed back to their primary healthcare team.

·      Institutional Accountability :

For our facility partners, we provide transparent engagement summaries to assist in holistic care auditing and family communications.

Governance & Ethics:

Our Legal Promise

We hold the stories entrusted to us with the highest level of administrative responsibility, ensuring safety for both the individual and the host organization.

·      Legislative Compliance:

Our data management and storytelling processes are strictly governed by the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and the Health Information Privacy Code.

·     The Consent Suite:

No work begins without a signed Comprehensive Consent Form and a Media Release Form. These documents ensure the individual retains total ownership of their narrative and can choose exactly how it is shared.

·     Autonomy & Safety:

We prfioritize the emotional security of our participants. This includes a "Right to Withdraw" at any time and a commitment to Rapport Building as the mandatory first step of any engagement.

·     The Consent Suite:

No work begins without a signed Comprehensive Consent Form and a Media Release Form. These documents ensure the individual retains total ownership of their narrative and can choose exactly how it is shared.

The Narrative Process: Measurable Deliverables

We transform personal reflections into tangible, archival-grade legacies through a structured production cycle.

Phase 1: Rapport
1–2 sessions for trust. No recording until you're at ease.
Phase 2: Documentation
4-6 deep-dive sessions revisiting memories with dignity.
Phase 3: Refinement
Professional voice-preservation editing for authenticity.
Phase 4: Delivery
A Legacy Book and Cinematic Film delivered.

Cultural Competency & Inclusive Design

Our practice is built for the diverse cultural landscape of Aotearoa.

·     Cultural Safety:

We weave the principles of Manaakitanga (respectful care) and Whanaungatanga (connection) into our interactions, ensuring a culturally safe space for Māori, Pasifika, and migrant communities.

·    Accessibility Standards:

We utilize adaptive tools and flexible pacing for participants with physical or cognitive impairments, ensuring that the opportunity to leave a legacy is inclusive of all abilities.

The Social Value of Our Deliverables

·      For the Individual:

The Legacy Book serves as a tangible anchor of identity, reducing feelings of invisibility and social isolation often felt in later life.

·      For the Family:

The Cinematic Short Film acts as a powerful intergenerational bridge, preserving the living voice and wisdom of loved ones, which strengthens family resilience.

·      For the Community:

These stories form a growing cultural archive that celebrates the diversity of Aotearoa, ensuring that the wisdom of our elders is not lost but shared to inspire future generations.
